What is Salsa?
The intoxicating rhythms of salsa started with the powerful beats of the african drums that would later be mixed with the Spanish guitar. These would travel to the islands of Cuba and blend together to create el Son Cubano with the influence of the tres guitar, clave and vocal styling.
Here is a musical breakdown of how instruments blend together all these influences into what we call "Salsa" today.

What is Bachata?
The beautiful Latin rhythms from Cuba reached Dominican Republic and in the 40's and 50's influenced musicians through Son Cubano. Artists like Los Compadres were famous as was dancing Danzon and Boleros. Slowly some of the instruments were replaced such as the maracas for the guiro and the birth of the Bachata sound and rhythms took place.
Now Bachata is a very popular couples dance that has morphed into many styles.

What is Cha-Cha?
Another popular rhythm you'll likely hear on the dancefloor, the Cha-Cha or Cha-cha-Cha is danced to the music of the same name introduced by Cuban composer and violinist Enrique Jorrin in the early 1950s. This rhythm was developed from the danzón-mambo.
Why Huracán Cha-Cha?
Abanico instructs Huracán Cha-Cha with both Cuban and NY flavours. Both the Cuban and NY Big Band Cha-Cha's are yours to explore!. This class will help you become a pro in both!

What is a Heels Class?
As the word suggests it, Heels class is a class done wearing heels. It incorporates jazz, pop, hip hop and even rap music and develops a wide range of movement and expression in the dancer! Think Yanis Marshall, Aliya Janell, etc.
Why Sexy In Lettos?
You'll be able to enjoy every single song in a dancefloor while in high heels. This class is open for beginners and experienced dancers and creates fun and sexy choreographies for all shapes and sizes.

What is Hip-Hop?
Hip-Hop is a name given to a cultural movement that has four elements: deejaying/turntabling, rapping, graffity painting, breakdancing and B-boying. B-boying includes the Hip-Hop dance, style and atttiude. , etc.
What do you do in Hip Hop Class?
This class focuses on foundation movements or "grooves" , these become combinations that link all movements together in a mesh of fun and energetic routines.
Learning all the moves and making them smooth make a creative routine like this one pop! Yes you learn to dance to all the most catchy and famous songs :)
